Kolkata, Sept. 18 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested ex-MP and Congress leader Kuldeep Rai Sharma, accused of a money laundering case linked to an alleged Andaman Nicobar State Cooperative Bank (ANSCB), official sources said today.

Besides the Congress MP, the federal agency also arrested two other cooperative bank officials, managing director K Murugan and loan officer K Kalaivanan, during raids in different hideouts yesterday.

The massive fraud of about Rs 500 Cr happened when the former MP and Congress leader Kuldeep Rai Sharma was at the helm of the cooperative bank as the chairman.

The trio, who were produced before a special court yesterday, were remanded to the ED custody for eight days for further interrogation.
