Varanasi, Dec. 3 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its investigation into the illegal trade of codeine-based cough syrup in Uttar Pradesh.
A three-member ED team from Varanasi raided two residences belonging to accused Shubham Jaiswal on Wednesday.
The team first reached Jaiswal's house located at Prahlad Ghat on Wednesday evening, where no one was present. Officials pasted a notice outside the residence. They then proceeded to his Sigra home, where they met Jaiswal's mother. On seeing the ED team, she broke down and folded her hands. Officers handed over a copy of the notice to her.
