New Delhi, Dec. 19 -- The Enforcement Directorate's Ahmedabad office filed a chargesheet on Friday against Ketan Patel, the former President of the District Panchayat in Daman and Diu, before a Special PMLA Court.

The charges relate to possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The investigation stems from a First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation. The CBI had accused Patel, a public servant, of holding disproportionate assets worth approximately Rs. 3.77 crore between October 2005 and October 2015. The CBI subsequently filed its own chargesheet in the matter.
