Kolkata, Aug. 7 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today filed a charge sheet against Chandranath Sinha, West Bengal's Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Textiles, in connection with alleged irregularities in the recruitment of primary school teachers in state-run institutions.

Sinha after former Education Minister Partha Chatterjee becomes the second minister from the Bengal government to face such action in this case.

The charge sheet was submitted on Wednesday in a special court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in Kolkata.

Sinha, a two-time Trinamool Congress MLA representing Bolpur in Birbhum district, had previously skipped two summons issued by the ED.
