Chandigarh, Aug. 20 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out simultaneous raids today at multiple locations in Phagwara, Punjab, targeting Wahid Sandhar Sugar Mill, Gold Gym, and related premises. Over 50 ED officials, divided into multiple teams, descended on these sites to investigate allegations of money laundering and financial irregularities.

Sources indicate that the raids are part of a broader probe into financial misconduct linked to the sugar mill and its owner, Jarnail Singh Wahid. The mill has faced long-standing accusations of failing to clear over Rs 40 crore in dues owed to farmers and misusing government land.
