New Delhi, March 26 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Bhopal Zonal Office, on Wednesday said it has attached movable and immovable properties worth Rs 2.79 crore belonging to Bhola Singh, former Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), and his family members.

The ED initiated a PMLA investigation based on an FIR registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), AC-II, New Delhi, under Sections 13(1)(b) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act (as amended) for possession of disproportionate assets.

The investigation revealed that during the check period from January 1, 2022, to January 31, 2024, Bhola Singh had disproportionate assets amounting to approximately Rs 1.74 crore.
