New Delhi, Sept. 9 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) announced today that it has attached immovable and movable assets worth Rs 185.84 crore in a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The case is related to a bank fraud involving the Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd. (DHFL), in which Kapil Wadhawan, Dheeraj Wadhawan, and others allegedly entered into a criminal conspiracy to cheat a consortium of 17 banks led by the union Bank of India.
The total value of assets attached in this case now stands at Rs 256.23 crore. The action was initiated by the ED's Mumbai Zonal Office.
The attached assets include 154 flats (immovable assets) and receivables from 20 other flats (movable assets) located in Mumbai.
