Shimla, Nov. 24 -- The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Shimla, has provisionally attached a residential property worth over Rs 1.84 crore in Sunny Enclave, Kharar, Mohali, belonging to Satish Kumar, the former District Treasury Officer (DTO) of Nahan.
The action has been taken under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection with a large-scale embezzlement of government pension funds.
According to the ED, the attached asset comprises a 200-square-yard plot with construction on it, which investigators believe was purchased and developed using illegally diverted pension money.
