Agartala, Jan. 26 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached two residential flats of Utpal Kumar Chowdhury in Agartala, who is an accused in a high-profile money laundering case in Tripura.
According to report, the attached properties comprise a flat numbered at Vivanta Building in Agartala in the name of Utpal Kumar Chowdhury's mother, Pratima Chowdhury, in November 2024, for a consideration of Rs 58.80 lakh, and another flat at Prantik Apartment in the city, by Utpal Kumar Chowdhury himself simultaneously for Rs 95 lakh.
The ED has identified Rs 30,28,751, amounting to about 51.50 per cent of the property's value, as proceeds of crime and has classified it as directly involved in the alleged offence.
