Kolkata, Aug. 25 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today arrested West Bengal ruling Trinamool Congress lawmaker Jibon Krishna Saha from his Murshidabad residence in connection with the alleged teachers' recruitment scandal in state-run schools, official sources said.
The central agency, probing the money trail in the scandal, arrested the TMC MLA, representing Burwan in Murshidabad, after grilling him for over six hours since 6 am. Sources said Saha attempted to flee upon learning of the ED officials' arrival, accompanied by the CRPF, but was caught after a chase.
The lawmaker also tried to dispose of his mobile phone by throwing it into a drain, but it was recovered during the search. The ED is expected to produce him before a special...
