Bhubaneswar, Nov. 7 -- The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has achieved a new milestone in freight operations, recording its highest-ever loading and unloading performance, both for the month of October and cumulatively for the period from April to October 2025.
In October 2025, ECoR loaded 23.58 million tonnes (MT) of freight, the highest ever for the month in any year.
This surpasses the previous best of 20.90 MT achieved in October 2024, marking a 13% growth. Notably, this is also the first time October loading has crossed the 23 million tonne mark.
From April to October 2025, ECoR recorded a cumulative freight loading of 161.18 million tonnes, exceeding last year's 144.47 MT during the same period.
