Bhubaneswar, Oct. 9 -- The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has registered impressive performance in both freight and passenger transportation during the first half (April-September) of the current financial year 2025-26, achieving notable growth over the corresponding period of the previous year. During April-September 2025, ECoR loaded 137.6 million tonnes of freight, compared to 123.6 million tonnes during the same period last year, registering a growth of 11.33 percent.
Freight operations also contributed to substantial revenue growth.
ECoR earned Rs. 14,162.58 crore from freight traffic, up from Rs. 12,808.30 crore during the same period last year, marking a 10.57 percent increase.
