Bhubaneswar, Dec. 18 -- East Coast Railway (ECoR) has achieved notable progress in the ongoing 'Provision of Double Distant Signaling (DDS)' project on the Khurda Road-Puri section of the Khurda Road Division. Sanctioned in the financial year 2024-25, this critical safety and capacity enhancement initiative aims to improve passenger safety, operational efficiency, and enable higher train speeds on this key rail corridor.
The Double Distant Signaling System is designed to allow trains to operate at speeds of up to 130 kmph by providing advance signal information to locomotive pilots.
