Bhubaneswar, April 6 -- The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has addressed concerns surrounding the transfer of the Palasa-Ichhapuram rail section to the newly formed South Coast Railway (SCoR), assuring that the move will not adversely affect Odisha.

Political parties including the BJD and Congress in Odisha had strongly opposed the Railway Board's decision to remove the Palasa-Ichhapuram section from ECoR's jurisdiction and merge it with SCoR. They demanded an immediate rollback, citing potential impacts on the state.
