Lucknow, Sept. 20 -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Navdeep Rinwa today said that the Election Commission of India( ECI) has removed 121 parties from the list of registered political parties in Uttar Pradesh for not contesting any Assembly or Lok Sabha elections since 2019.
He informed that these parties have now ceased to be entitled to any benefits available to political parties under Section 29B and Section 29C of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961, and the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968.
