Kolkata, Oct. 1 -- Ahead of the 2026 assembly election in West Bengal, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed two senior IAS officers of West Bengal cadre, Arun Prasad and Panicker Harishankar, in the state election department as the additional chief electoral officer and the joint chief electoral officer respectively, official sources said today.
