Guwahati, Oct. 28 -- England left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone has suffered a minor injury to the joint next to her collar bone, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed today, ahead of the ICC Women's World Cup semifinal against South Africa scheduled tomorrow.

"Results of an MRI scan on Sophie Ecclestone's left shoulder indicate a minor injury to the joint next to her collarbone. She will continue to be assessed ahead of Wednesday's ICC Women's World Cup semi-final against South Africa," the ECB said in a statement.

Despite the concern, team management remains optimistic that Ecclestone will be fit in time for the crucial knockout fixture.
