New Delhi/Kolkata, March 20 -- In an effort to prevent the spread of misinformation through social media platforms, the Election Commission of India has announced a series of new regulations, issuing a notification on Friday, asking the candidates to disclose detailed information about their social media accounts in their nomination papers.

Assam, Kerala and Puducherry will vote on April 9 in a single-phase voting, whereas, Tamil Nadu will go to the polls on April 23. West Bengal elections will be held in two phases, April 23 and 29.
