New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- The Election Commission today issued notification inviting nominations for the 17th Vice-Presidential election slated September 9. Nominations can be filed by August 21 while scrutiny of nominations will take place on August 22. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is August 25. Counting of votes will be held on September 9. Rajya Sabha Secretary-General PC Mody has been appointed Returning Officer for the election. He will be assisted by Joint Secretary Garima Jain and Director of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat Vijay Kumar, said the notification.
