Chennai, April 10 -- The election flying squad teams on Friday intercepted and inspected the vehicle of TVK Chief Vijay and former BJP State President K Annamalai.
While the vehicle of Vijay, who was heading for electioneering in Karaikudi after landing at the Madurai airport from Chennai, was subjected to checks near the Madurai-Sivaganga border, the chopper in which Mr Annamalai came to the hilly Udhagamandalam in the Nilgiris district from Coimbatore for campaigning, was checked by the flying squad team.
The officials conducted a thorough search of Vijay's vehicle to ensure compliance of the Model Code of Conduct and to monitor transport of cash or prohibited materials.
