Kolkata, Feb. 26 -- The Election Commission of India has finalised the district-wise plan for the initial deployment of central armed police forces in West Bengal ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. The deployment will begin from Sunday, March 1.

Sources in the commission said that North 24 Parganas will receive the highest number of forces, with 30 companies to be deployed across its three police districts and two commissionerates. Kolkata will have 12 companies.

In Murshidabad, 16 companies will be deployed across two police districts, while Howrah will get 15 companies covering both the police district and commissionerate.
