Kolkata, Jan. 22 -- Bengal captain Abhimanyu Easwaran was dismissed in unusual circumstances on Thursday, being run out after stepping out of the crease to get water, assuming the ball was dead.
The incident occurred during the sixth round of the Ranji Trophy against Services.
Easwaran, batting fluently on 81, seemed set for a 28th first-class century when a lapse in judgment ended his innings. On the final ball of the 41st over, bowled by Aditya Kumar, Bengal's Sudip Chatterjee pushed a full-length delivery straight back at the bowler.
Assuming the over was complete and drinks had been called, Easwaran stepped out of his crease and began walking toward the pavilion.
