Kolkata, Aug. 10 -- Eastern Railway (ER) today achieved another milestone with the commissioning of its first air-conditioned (AC) EMU (local train), which departed from Sealdah station en route to Ranaghat station in Nadia.
The Sealdah-Ranaghat AC local train consists of 12 fully air-conditioned coaches with stainless steel bodies, offering a safe, secure, and comfortable travel experience. It can accommodate up to 1,126 seated passengers.
The train took off from Sealdah amid cheers from the first passengers, including journalists and railway officials.
