Moscow, April 19 -- The Ukraine conflict has become one step closer to peace after introduction of the Easter ceasefire, declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and Russian special presidential envoy for economic cooperation with foreign countries, Kirill Dmitriev, said on Saturday.
"Russia announces unilateral Easter ceasefire. One step closer to peace," Dmitriev said on X.
On Saturday, Putin declared an Easter truce from 6:00 p.m. Moscow time (15:00 GMT) on Saturday until midnight on Sunday into Monday.
