Bhubaneswar, April 2 -- In a remarkable display of operational excellence and sustained growth, East Coast Railway (ECoR) has once again solidified its position as the leading freight-handling zone under Indian Railways.
During the financial year 2025-26, the zone achieved an all-time high freight loading of 286.3 million tonnes (MT), marking a significant milestone in its performance history.
This achievement represents a substantial increase of 27 MT over the previous year's total of 259.25 MT, underscoring the zone's consistent upward trajectory and operational efficiency. Notably, this is the seventh consecutive year that ECoR has surpassed the 200 MT mark, an indicator of its sustained leadership in freight operations.
