New Delhi, April 14 -- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke on the phone with Oman's Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi and discussed "recent regional developments", amid the Omani-mediated nuclear talks between the US and Iran.

In a post on X, the EAM said:

"Appreciate the telecon with FM @badralbusaidi of Oman today.

"Discussed recent regional developments."

On Saturday, President Donald Trump's Mideast envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held talks in Muscat - the first time the two nations have done that since the Obama administration.

The indirect talks ended with the parties agreeing to continue the talks next week.
