Colombo, Dec. 23 -- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Colombo on Monday evening, on an official visit.

EAM Jaishankar is undertaking the visit as a "special envoy" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to reports, the purpose of the visit is to further reaffirm the support of India to Sri Lanka, which has been affected by Cyclone Ditwah.

During his visit, the Indian Foreign Minister is scheduled to hold discussions with the President and other senior representatives of the government.
