Hyderabad, Aug. 6 -- The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught Jagtial District Transport Officer (DTO) Banoth Bhadru Naik and his private driver while accepting Rs 22,000 bribe

According to the ACB statement, the DTO was trapped by the Karimnagar Unit on Wednesday at his office while accepting a bribe of Rs 22,000 through his private driver, Banoth Aravind, from a complainant. The bribe was allegedly demanded to avoid booking a case, impose no fine on the complainant's proclaimer vehicle, and to release his seized mobile phones.

The tainted amount of Rs 22,000 was recovered from the possession of the driver, whose fingers tested positive in the chemical test.
