Shimla, Dec. 3 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Shimla, has cautioned that Himachal Pradesh is heading into a prolonged dry spell accompanied by a sharp fall in minimum temperatures, conditions that heighten the risk of frost across mid and higher hills over the next one week.
The advisory, issued in the latest Agromet Bulletin for the state, warns that the absence of rainfall since November 29 and the continuing clear skies are likely to deepen cold conditions in many districts.
According to the IMD's extended forecast for December 5-11, most parts of the state would remain mainly dry, with minimum temperatures dropping to minus 8degC to 2degC in higher hills, 4 to 8degC in mid-hills, and 2 to 10degC in lower hills and plain...
