Shahjahanpur (UP), Sept. 22 -- A 60-year-old woman was today beaten to death by her husband allegedly for raising objection over his alcohol consumption.
The tragic incident took place in Tilhar area of this district, a police officer said here.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Diksha Bhanware said that the accused has been taken into custody by the police.
She said that Kalyan Singh Jatav (65), a resident of Dhanakpur village in the Tilhar police station area, was an alcoholic. "Late Saturday night, Kalyan Singh returned home drunk and had an argument with his wife, Shanti Devi (60), over alcohol," she said.
