New Delhi, Feb. 15 -- The Drugs Control Department today carried out a special inspection and enforcement drive in Nangloi, West Delhi aimed at ensuring the availability of safe, effective and quality medicines and curbing unethical trade practices.
During the drive, enforcement teams inspected 12 retail drug dealers. Of these, 10 firms were found violating provisions of the Drugs Rules, 1945. Necessary action has been initiated against the erring firms under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, officials said.
The department also collected 49 survey samples of various medicines for testing and analysis to verify compliance with prescribed quality standards.
