Mumbai, July 3 -- Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed in the Maharashtra Assembly today that drug trafficker Navin Chichkar, the main accused in the much-discussed hydroponic cannabis case, was arrested from Malaysia on June 11 and has been brought back to India.
He said that Chichkar was hiding in Malaysia for many days.
His partner Prabhat Pandey has also been arrested, Fadnavis informed the lower house.
The Chief Minister further informed that few people working in post office, Customs department and police personnel also have been arrested for allegedly helping Chickar in drug trafficking.
"We have decided to arrest such criminals under MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) now," Fadnavis added.
