Kanpur, March 7 -- The crime branch in Kanpur has arrested a pharmaceutical firm owner who had been absconding in an illegal trade of codeine-based cough syrup, police said on Saturday.
The case was registered at Hanumant Vihar Police Station on November 5, 2025 under the NDPS Act and other sections. The arrested accused has been identified as Vishal Singh Sisodia, proprietor of M/s Sisodia Medicine House.
According to Shravan Kumar Singh, the accused had purchased and sold more than 10,500 bottles of the banned codeine-based syrup Fancyepic-T illegally.
During investigation, records and emails revealed that the accused had purchased 5,250 bottles of the syrup from Idhika Lifesciences, but there was no evidence of its legal sale. Further...
