Bhubaneswar, Sept. 5 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today said that drastically reducing the dropout rate and ensuring quality education are the two biggest challenges facing the present education system.
Addressing the State-Level Teachers' Day Celebration and Chief Minister's Education Award Ceremony here, Majhi said the Mid-Day Meal programme has played a crucial role in curbing the dropout rate. The scheme, now extended up to Class 10, also provides nutritious food to children.
The Chief Minister said children from tribal communities are being supported through the Madho Singh Handicraft Scheme, expressing confidence that such initiatives will further reduce dropout rates in the coming days.
