Srinagar, Oct. 14 -- The District Magistrate Baramulla today ordered a complete ban on the flying of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the border district citing security concerns.
The order, issued by District Magistrate Minga Sherpa under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, follows inputs regarding possible misuse of drones, including fears of smuggling and potential threats to security forces and vital installations in the Kashmir Valley.
The directive was issued after the Army's Baramulla based 19 Infantry Division requested a temporary prohibition on drone operations.
