Moscow, July 29 -- A crashed drone damaged overhead lines at a rail station in the southwestern Russian town of Salsk, in the Rostov Region, in the early hours of Tuesday, delaying 18 passenger trains for up to seven hours, the Russian Railways (RZD) said.
"Train crews are providing comprehensive assistance to passengers. The Russian Railways is doing everything to minimize the delay time," the state company said.
Drone debris shattered windows in two cars of a passenger train. Trains were rerouted around the damaged section of the track. Passengers of trains running with more than four-hour delays were offered free meals.
