Nashik, Dec. 19 -- Maharashtra's Nashik Zilla Parishad on Thursday suspended 18 employees including a headmaster after irregularities were detected during an ongoing verification drive of disability certificates, also known as UDID cards, an official said.
The action is part of a wider campaign being conducted under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, to curb the misuse of disability benefits.
Chief Executive Officer Omkar Pawar ordered the suspension, taking a strict stand against violations. The suspended employees include three Gram Sevaks, fourteen primary teachers, and one headmaster.
