Solan, March 17 -- The drinking water crisis in Solan and its surrounding areas has deepened after the recent breakdown of the Giri Lift Drinking Water Scheme, under which water is supplied to the city.
Drinking water is being supplied in many parts of the city on fourth to fifth days. Furthermore, it is being claimed that the Giri drinking water scheme was also disrupted last week due to a power outage.
Congress leaders claim that some officials are merely whiling their time in Solan and are not taking their responsibility towards the public seriously. They said that the Jal Shakti Department is providing drinking water to consumers at its own discretion, which is raising questions about the government's image.
