Lucknow, Aug. 28 -- In a major crackdown on international drug smuggling, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) intercepted two passengers at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, Lucknow, recovering nearly 24 kilograms of high-grade Hydroponic Weed (Ganja) with an estimated market value of Rs 24 crore, officials said today.

The duo, who arrived on Air India Express flight IX 105 from Bangkok on August 26, were apprehended based on specific intelligence inputs. Upon interrogation, they admitted to smuggling the contraband in their checked-in luggage.

A detailed search of their baggage led to the recovery of 23.935 kilograms of Hydroponic Weed, a form of high-potency cannabis cultivated using advanced hydroponic techniques....
