Hyderabad/Amaravati, March 13 -- In a major crackdown on the illicit manufacture of synthetic drugs, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has busted a clandestine facility producing Alprazolam, a psychotropic substance banned under the NDPS Act, 1985, at the Kondapalli Industrial Development Area in NTR district of Andhra Pradesh.
The intelligence-driven operation, codenamed "Operation White Hammer," was carried out on March 11 and 12. Officials discovered a full-fledged industrial setup allegedly operating under the guise of a chemical manufacturing unit for producing Alprazolam, a DRI statement said on Friday.
