New Delhi, Oct. 30 -- Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the premier research institute developing products and technologies for the armed forces, expanded its horizons beyond the defence forces.

The organisation has developed and tested food items and landing gears - parachute systems for the astronauts to be used in the country's first human spaceflight mission, Gaganyaan.

BK Das, Director General of Electronics and Communication at DRDO, Unveils DRDO's role in the upcoming Gaganyaan mission. "We have developed specialised food required for the mission and specialised systems for parachutes. We have also got specialised technologies for astronauts who can be dependent on our own systems and products," said Das.
