Mumbai, March 12 -- The family members of Dr Payal Tadvi, who died by suicide in 2019, allegedly due to harassment by her seniors, have urged the Maharashtra government to revoke a notification which removed special public prosecutor (SPP) Pradip Gharat from the trial in the case.
Abeda Tadvi, mother of Dr Tadvi, in a letter addressed to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, sought reappointment of Gharat as SPP till the trial concludes and she gets justice.
On March seven, the Law & Judiciary department issued the notification to cancel the appointment of Gharat with immediate effect but did not give any reasons for the decision. It stated that a new special public prosecutor, Mahesh Mule, has been appointed for the case.
