Jammu, Sept. 21 -- union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has stressed the importance of industry linkages and private sector involvement for the sustainable growth of startups and the broader Indian economy. He made the remarks while addressing the Lead Impact Conclave today.

Dr Singh said the government has already created an enabling ecosystem by providing industry linkages to help startups boost their ventures. He noted that startups have emerged as a lucrative and sustainable source of livelihood.

India now ranks third globally with 170,000 startups, of which about 60,000 are led by women who have become successful agri-entrepreneurs.
