Kendrapara, April 27 -- A 21-year-old woman was allegedly burnt to death over dowry demands in Odisha's Kendrapara district, with police arresting her husband and mother-in-law in connection with the case.
The incident came to light after the victim's father lodged a complaint with Tantiapala Marine Police, accusing his daughter's in-laws of killing her following prolonged harassment for dowry.
The deceased, identified as Surekha Mandal, was married to Biswajit Mandal of Benakandha village three years ago.
According to the complaint filed by her father, Manoranjan Dinda of Nadhalia under Pattamundai Rural police limits, the couple initially led a normal married life and have a two-year-old son.
