Srinagar, April 4 -- Amid the rising friction between the elected government and the Lt Governor, the ruling alliance in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday urged New Delhi not to push them to the wall and undermine the authority of the government headed by Omar Abdullah.

The ruling alliance of Jammu and Kashmir political parties also cautioned against misinterpreting their silence and cooperation as weakness.

The warning came during a crucial meeting of the legislature party, chaired by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and attended by senior alliance leaders.

The meeting was held amid the first faceoff between the Omar government and Lt Governor over the recent transfers of 48 officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS).
