Bhubaneswar, Dec. 16 -- In a demonstration of multidisciplinary coordination and advanced surgical expertise, doctors at SUM Hospital at Sitalapalli here, successfully removed a massive neck tumour from a 32-year-old male patient, marking yet another significant milestone in the hospital's rapidly expanding super-speciality services.
The patient had reported to the outpatient department with a huge swelling on the right side of the neck that had been progressively increasing over the past four years.
Detailed clinical assessment followed by CT imaging revealed a large solid mass measuring approximately 9.7 x 6.5 x 13.6 cm, located in the right posterior neck space between the sternocleidomastoid muscle and right paraspinal muscles.
