Imphal, Sept. 21 -- A 35-year-old woman from Lilong Chajing passed away at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) today after developing complications following a surgical delivery. Her death sparked an attack on a doctor, prompting the medical association to suspend all services.
Relatives said that although the woman gave birth to a baby girl, her health deteriorated soon after the operation, leading to her death.
Following the incident, family members and locals gathered at the hospital, alleging medical negligence. The situation turned tense, and a doctor was assaulted, suffering critical injuries. He has since been moved to a private hospital for treatment.
