Chennai, Nov. 20 -- The observation by the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court that Governors could not indefinitely sit on Bills while declining to set a time line for either the President or the Raj Bhavans, has been welcomed by the DMK as a victory.
Expressing hope that the Tamil Nadu Governor will henceforth carry on his duties in accordance with the Constitution, DMK Parliamentary Party leader Kanimozhi in a post on 'X' said, "The duty that Constitution has mandated to the Governor is to send the Bills passed by the legislature, elected by the people, in a sealed envelope to Delhi without any delay.
