Chennai, Sept. 28 -- The ruling DMK today announced postponement of all partyfunctions scheduled for today as a mark of respect to those killed in the stampedeat Karur last night during TVK Founder and actor Vijay's politicaly rally.
A statement from the DMK headquarters here said the fresh dates would be announcedlater.
"As a mark of respect to pay homage to the Karur stampede victims, all the DMK eventsscheduled for the day, has been postponed", it said.
A total of 39 people--17 men, 16 women and six children (five girls, four boys)--werekilled in the stampede caused by the massive turn out at Vijay's public outreach programmeat Karur last night.
