Tiruchirapalli (Tamil Nadu), March 10 -- Protesting against Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for allegedly calling Tamil Nadu MPs 'undemocratic and uncivilised' over the issue of implementing the PM Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme, a group of DMK cadre burnt his effigy near the Periyar Statue at Central Bus Stand in Tiruchirapalli city on Monday.
The DMK men, led by Tiruchirapalli city corporation Mayor M.Anbazhagan and party's central district Secretary Vairamani shouted slogans against Pradhan before setting the effigy on fire.
They also condemned the BJP-led Union Government for insisting Tamil Nadu government to accept the NEP and indirectly attempting to impose Hindi in the State.
